JPM Asset Management has strengthened its real assets operations in Europe with the appointment of Paul Kennedy from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Kennedy will join as head of strategy and as a portfolio manager covering real estate in Europe. He will formally assume the position in early 2020 and be based in London.
Kennedy, who will report to Peter Reilly, head of real estate Europe at JPM AM, will lead the European real estate strategy team and contribute market views to JPM AM’s real estate investment process.
He was most recently at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where he held the role of head of private markets strategy, as well as being a portfolio manager within the wider global asset allocation team. He spent 11 years with the group.
Commenting on the hire, Peter Reilly said the addition of Kennedy was designed to aid a more intimate understanding of microeconomics and fundamentals, as well as global macroeconomics.
The European real estate team sits within JP Morgan Global Alternatives, the alternative investment arm of JPM AM with more than 700 professionals globally and approximately 50 individuals dedicated to European real estate based in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Luxembourg.
