Fund selector Simon Frank has left Allianz Global Investors to take a senior investment specialist role for Germany at rival group Pictet Asset Management.
According to Citywire Selector’s sister site Citywire Deutschland, Frank (pictured) spent more than four years as a portfolio manager covering multi-asset funds and fund of funds while based in Frankfurt for AllianzGI.
In his new capacity, Frank, who formally joined on 1 December 2019, will report to Walter Liebe, senior investment adviser for Pictet Asset Management. He will work effectively as a product specialist focused on the German client market.
Pictet AM said Frank’s experience of having overseen thematic and Japanese equities, as well liquid alternatives, reflected the areas of special interest that have proven popular among its German investor base.
Earlier in his career, Frank also worked for multi-family office Focam and as a portfolio manager at DWS Investment.
