AMOI looks to Aberdeen Standard to fill senior EMEA role

Asset Management One International has named Mario De Bergolis as its new chief operating officer for EMEA.

De Bergolis was most recently from Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he served as global head of strategy and business management, client and multi-manager solutions for half a decade.

Prior to that, he held various roles across Vestra Wealth, SS&C GlobeOp, Vantage Capital Markets and Beaufort Securities among others. He brings over 20 years of experience to his new role at AMOI.

Based in London, De Bergolis will be responsible for setting strategic directions for all operational functions. He will also oversee operations, middle office and systems support departments at the firm.

‘The appointment of Mario as COO will be instrumental as we continue to build and develop our EMEA presence,’ said Toru Yoshibe, CEO of AMOI.

The appointment comes shortly after the firm announced the hire of Lora-Ann Chiginsky as its new business development director for EMEA earlier in June.

AMOI has been expanding its focus on the EMEA region, taking on Ursula Schliessler as an independent non-executive director in January 2020. The firm also appointed Andrea Favaloro as head of business development for EMEA in December 2019.

Asset Management One manages over $490bn in assets under management globally, with AMOI being responsible for institutional clients in the EMEA region.
