Chinese equity funds with the biggest inflows

Citywire Asia presents the top five Chinese equity funds most bought by investors in Asia and the Middle East

5. Allianz China A-Shares

In the fifth places was the Allianz China A-Shares - AT – USD. The fund attracted inflows of £67.87 million ($88.51 million) over the past three months ending 28 February.

Managed by AA-rated Sunny Chung and AA-rated Anthony Wong, the fund returned 53.8% in US dollar over the past three years ending 31 March.

Launched in March 2009, the $162 million fund invests at least 70% of fund’s assets in companies being incorporated in China and listed as A-Shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange or the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

 

5. Allianz China A-Shares

In the fifth places was the Allianz China A-Shares - AT – USD. The fund attracted inflows of £67.87 million ($88.51 million) over the past three months ending 28 February.

Managed by AA-rated Sunny Chung and AA-rated Anthony Wong, the fund returned 53.8% in US dollar over the past three years ending 31 March.

Launched in March 2009, the $162 million fund invests at least 70% of fund’s assets in companies being incorporated in China and listed as A-Shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange or the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

 

4. UBS (Lux) Eq Fd - China Opportunity

The UBS (Lux) Eq Fd - China Opportunity (USD) P-acc fund was ranked fourth. It gained inflows of £69.48 million ($90.61 million) over the past three months.

Managed by AAA-rated Bin Shi, the fund returned 77.8% in US dollar over the past three years.

Launched in November 1996, the $3.99 billion fund invests in large companies, as well as small and medium-sized companies.

 

 

3. AS SICAV I - China A Share Equity

In the third place was the AS SICAV I - China A Share Equity A Acc USD fund. It attracted inflows of £187.24 million ($244.18 million) over the past three months.

Managed by + rated Nicholas Yeo, the fund returned 68.4% in US dollar over the past three years.

Launched in March 2015, the $393 million fund invests at least two-thirds of its total assets in companies that are listed on Chinese Stock Exchanges, including China A-Shares and B-Shares.

 

 

2. Investec GSF All China Equity

The Investec GSF All China Equity I Acc USD fund came in second. The fund gained inflows of £195.7 million ($255.21 million) over the past three months.

Managed by A-rated Greg Kuhnert, the fund returned 73.6% in US dollar over the past three years.

Launched in May 2015, the $756 million fund invests in equities or equity-related securities issued by Chinese companies.

 

1. Fidelity Funds - China Focus A

The Fidelity Funds - China Focus A-USD-DIS is the biggest winner in the Chinese equity sector. The fund attracted inflows of £208.37 million ($271.73 million) over the past three months.

Managed by Citywire +rated Jing Ning, the fund returned 53.6% in US dollar over the past three years.

Launched in August 2003, the $2.36 billion fund invests at least 70% of its assets in companies listed in China and Hong Kong, as well as in non-Chinese companies that have a significant portion of their activities in China.
